The current situation of China's foundry industry is that the output is large, with an annual output of about 36.5 million tons of castings, more than 20000 factories, and more than 1.2 million employees in the foundry industry. A major feature of China's foundry industry is the rapid development of township enterprises since the reform and opening up, which has become an important force in China's foundry industry. The number of township foundries has exceeded the number of state-owned foundries, and the casting output of township foundries accounts for about half of the total casting output of the country.

At present, the development of foundry technology in the world's industrial developed countries can be summarized as follows: ① protect the environment, reduce or even eliminate pollution; ② Improve the quality and reliability of castings and produce high-quality near net shape castings; ③ Reduce production costs; ④ Shorten the delivery time. In addition to the large number of factories, employees and large output, China's foundry industry lags behind developed countries in quality, efficiency, energy and material consumption, labor conditions and environmental protection. The reasons for these gaps are the small scale of foundry sites, poor economic strength, backward technology and equipment, low management level and low quality of employees. In order to eliminate these gaps, meet the needs of China's economic construction, and also for the existence and development of the foundry industry itself, China's foundry industry should focus on improving the casting quality and economic benefits, and face the domestic and international markets; Strengthen management, lay a good foundation and improve the quality of enterprises; Adjust the industrial structure, rationally allocate resources, and advocate moderate scale operation; We will continue to transform the foundry industry with applicable advanced production processes and technical equipment to achieve cleaner production and ensure sustainable development. 
